Quotes
----------------------------------------
“There is no justification
without sanctification, no forgiveness without renewal of life, no
real faith from which the fruits of new obedience do not grow.” --- Martin Luther
"A
Christian is not somebody who stays away from all the wicked
things he loves and clings to all the righteous things he
hates so that he can go to heaven. The fear of the Christian
is not going to hell. The fear of the Christian is being
separated from Christ." --- Paul Washer
"I want you to know that the greatest heresy in
the American evangelical and protestant church is that if you pray
and ask Jesus to come into your heart, He will definitely come in.
You will not find that in any place in Scripture." --- Paul Washer, HeartCry
Missionary Society
“Everyone wants to go
to Heaven. They just don’t want God to be there, when they get
there.” --- Paul Washer
“It is my opinion that tens of thousands of people, if not
millions, have been brought into some kind of religious experience
by accepting Christ, and they have not been saved.” --- A.W. Tozer
“Idolatry is not simply worshiping a stone image, but idolatry is
any concept of God that reduces God to less than who He really
is”.
--- A.W. Tozer
"The
scriptures are given not to increase our knowledge, but to change our
lives."
---
Dwight L. Moody
``Any concept
of grace that makes us feel more comfortable sinning is not
biblical grace ... whosoever therefore will be a friend of the
world is the enemy of God. James 4:4" --- SB
"If you can sin
and not weep over it, you are an heir of hell. If you can go
into sin, and afterwards feel satisfied to have done so, you
are on the road to destruction. If there are no prickings of
conscience, no inwardtorments, no bleeding wounds; if you
have no throbs and heavings of a bosom that cannot rest; if
your soul never feels filled with wormwood and gall when you
know you have done evil, you are no child of God." --- Charles Spurgeon
"You cannot
use a method that is fundamentally self-centered to invite
people into a moral universe that is fundamentally
God-centered." ---
Dwight L. Moody
“If you're a genuine Christian,
worldly pleasures are no longer pleasures to you and the
very tasting of them makes you feel sick since the
regenerating work of the Holy Spirit
has
caused you to be Born Again as a new
creation with new appetites that desire to
live a life that is pleasing
to God.
God causes you to go from being dead to
alive. Is Jesus Christ the born again passion of your heart? Have you had a supernatural change of life or was it merely a
new destiny you were looking for?
The question is not do you desire to go to heaven, the
question is do you desire Jesus Christ?
You will never know
the worthiness of Christ until you know the unworthiness of
your own heart.”
--- MV
"To swim in one's sins while claiming
God's grace, reveals one's lostness while despising Him to His
face." --- MV
No Assurance While Intent On Sin
"The Bible makes it plain, I believe, that people who persistently
refuse the command of Jesus’ lordship have no warrant for
believing that they are saved. Such people should not be comforted
that they are saved simply because there was a time when they
“believed” gospel facts or walked an aisle or signed a card or
prayed a prayer. In fact, Jesus seems far more eager to explode
the assurance of false “professions of faith” than he is to give
assurance to people who are intent on living in sin. Where does he
ever bolster the “eternal security” of a person unwilling to
forsake sin?
I am not saying that only perferct people are
saved. There are no perfect people on this earth.
We sin every day and every good
work we do is tainted with sinful remnants of corruption. I am
saying that a person who goes on willfully rejecting the
commands of Jesus for his life has no warrant for salvation."
